Eturnagaram Wildlife Sanctuary, located in the Mulugu district of Telangana, is one of the oldest and most significant wildlife sanctuaries in the state, situated along the scenic banks of the Godavari River. Spreading over dense dry deciduous forests, the sanctuary lies around 250 km from Hyderabad and is well connected via Warangal–Mulugu–Eturnagaram road routes. Known for its rich biodiversity, Eturnagaram Wildlife Sanctuary is home to animals such as sloth bears, leopards, wild boars, spotted deer, nilgai, and various reptile species, along with a wide variety of migratory and resident birds. The sanctuary also holds cultural importance due to the presence of the Sammakka–Saralamma Jatara site, one of the largest tribal festivals in Asia. With its tranquil forest environment, riverine landscapes, and eco-tourism appeal, Eturnagaram Wildlife Sanctuary is a must-visit destination for nature lovers, wildlife photographers, and eco-tourists exploring Telangana.
