Somalingeswara Temple in Durki, located in the Nasrullabad Zone of Kamareddy District, Telangana, is a historic and revered Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. This ancient stone temple, believed to have been constructed during the Kalyani Chalukya and Kakatiya periods, stands on the outskirts of Durki village and is famed for its unique west‑facing entrance and the growing Shiva lingam in the sanctum, which devotees regard as a Swayambhu (self‑manifested) linga.Durki itself has historical importance, with local lore linking the area’s name to Durvasa Maharshi, one of the Sapta Rishis, who is said to have performed penance there. The Somalingeswara Temple also houses idols of Goddess Parvati and Lord Ganesha along with several other lingams of various shapes within the temple complex.
